My family is Scots, Irish, and English, pretty much in that order. With that being said, there aren’t many days, like St. Patrick’s Day, etc., that we don’t miss celebrating or acknowledging in some way. While we don’t go out to drink green beer and collect cheap plastic green trinkets, we definitely do eat!
Growing up, it seemed as if every few weeks, there was a family get-together, church pitch-in, or a rowdy card night of euchre. One of the predominant dishes Grandma would make was her famous meatballs.
If you have ever been to New Orleans, stopping at Cafe du Monde near Jackson Square is a must. This famous spot is a great way to start the day with a cup of chicory coffee, a few beignets, or more! Beignets are those deliciously fried puff pastries generously
